I've heard a few stories of people having ridges open up right near them before, not something I've experienced yet. I would probably question what the hell I was doing on a frozen lake at that point haha. Until then, all caution to the wind!
Went back to Lac Ste Anne yesterday, ice was thick and solid, 11" near shore and 8 inches further out. Someone had walked out to Farmer Island before me so I followed their trail all the way. Fishing was slow again, several light bites and maybe half dozen other fish seen on the flasher. Gonna be hard to fill my tags at this rate
