I am actually leaning more to a potential firing as opposed to a trade.

Chiarelli is all but disappeared since the start of the season. His focus during the off season was signing McDavid and Draisaitl, and it is like he forgot about the rest of the line-up. There were quality d-man and forwards available this off season and some them a hell of a lot better then Jokinen at about the same money; Cammalleri, Stafford are couple that come to mind. Hell Iggy would be at least picking up a couple goals. He knew Sekera was out for at least 2 months and did nothing to address the top 4.

And McLellan is not doing his job. Never really like his hiring as he is always the bridesmaid, and never the bride. Doesn't seem to handle pressure very well in the post season. His post game interviews are disgusting with comments like "we were 1 power play away from a win" or 1 PK away from a win". This was a team that was suppose to dominate, not squeak by with 1 goal wins. And the unfortunate part is that he has the whole team believing they have to maintain the same course and it will eventually turn around.

Right now they are at least 7 points behind with 5 other teams ahead of them for the last wildcard spot. 16 games left in November. Even if they go 800 and pick up 25 point, the 5 other teams will all have to be below 500 for the Oilers to be in the last wild card spot by American Thanksgiving. What a terrible start to an awesome season.

Go Oilers Go!
