Love the idea of the 280. Debated it for a long while.
Ultimately decided to shoot 150 gr bullets so went with the 270. If you want to shoot 160+ class bullets then 280 or 3006 make a good choice, but all three are splitting hairs.
Currently own 6.5-06, 270 (wife's) and 3006.
All great. Selling the 6.5-06 because I have less time to tinker than I use to.
The 6.5-06 Cooper has very light recoil compared to the other two in Rem 700, but all three are very manageable.
