I live in a rural area, but not on a farm/ranch. However, I spend a lot of time on friends ranches, so am not unfamiliar with the realities on the ground. You are aware that bears are 80% herbivores, with most of the rest being carrion and ground squirrels. Don't forget that there is the predator compensation fund that can be accessed.
