So, it looks like I'm going to the Yukon to accompany my son and a friend who plan a hike in the Tombstone mountains. While they're doing their thing, I plan to amuse myself by touring and doing some rock looking and gold panning, I'd also like to swing over into Alaska. Plan is to bring a little bear insurance but realize I need a temporary importation permit for my shot gun, US legal barrel length of course.
Anybody done this, time required and best way to proceed ?
