Emerald lake, drive right to it, best fishing is in the opening week. It was an annual event for over 35 years for me, but now parks caNADUH is using whirling disease as an excuse to enforce catch and release. They've been wanting to stop fishing in the parks since the 70's when they quit stocking fish, it is the only extractive recreation in the parks, e.g. you are not even supposed to pick berries there etc. If this does not change I will never buy another park pass or NP fishing licence again. Really too bad because the Brookies out of Emerald are in my opinion the best tasting fresh water fish I have ever eaten.
