This recall has been out for a while. When I worked for dodge, the pitman arm didn't match the upgraded steering linkage that dodge issued as a repair. So then later they changed the pitman arm to match the linkage. Then they found out that some of their linkage tie rods were cocked sideways when they were installed. So to correct this they issued tie rods to be replaced and checked with a gauge to make sure they were straight.
The steering dampener that also contributed to the death wobble was replaced in this recall. This only applies to factory steering linkages. All aftermarket linkages, tie rods, etc. wont be repaired through a recall.
I know this because I repaired many linkages for this recall. Why they are stating that they are issuing it now, I have no idea.
