Default dragon fly nymph

The nymph has recently molted, therefore the the light green color and the nymph is soft at this point. In time the case, or body will harden and the nymph will become black in color. The dragon fly molts several times a year as the dragonfly grows larger. When freshly molted the dragonfly is bright green and darkens with time.
The fish are actively looking for these large meals this time of year. Use a insect green or seal brown or dark olive green half back to imitate theses bugs.
I tie these on a 3x long #8 or #6 hook.
First try a slow retrieve then a bunch of quick short pulls. Repeat till you find what at what speed the fish want the fly. In shallow water to about 8 feet I use A DRY LINE WITH SPLIT SHOT A COUPLE OF FEET IN FRONT OF THE FLY TO GET IT DOWN. In deeper water a sinking line.
It can be a killer this time of year.
Good luck
