Mine are, dare I say... MEC. And yeah, you have to walk like you just rode a horse all day to avoid having them chime together and spook everything around you.
I like the look of First Lite and Kuiu gaitors, but I'd also look at sewing some felt pads on the inside ankles of the ones I already have.
