Please feel free to elaborate on which of my comments you find to be mistaken. I majored in physics, so I'm interested to see what you're referring to. Don't be shy with the math "on paper", I dig it!
As far as exterior ballistics are concerned, the only things that matter at big ranges, are big velocity and big BC values over the course of travel....
I've posted this before, but since "big bullets matter at big ranges", I'll post it again. This target was shot at 1762 yards in shifting, gusty wind. The small splashes in the orange area are from 105AM bullets from the .243AI, the large splashes around the edges of the orange are from 300gr Scenar bullets from a friend's .338LMAI. Big bullets, even high-BC ones, aren't necessarily a trump card.
