Default Pigeon Lake

I wandered around checking ice on Thursday and Prov Park end of boat launch was 5.5”.....4 steps farther out 4.5” and soft. Big cracks about 75 yds out and very wet looking. Grandview has about 6” out to about 30yds but was not good hard ice in my opinion. Large wet cracks further offshore it appeared. At Mulhurst, a crack had formed across access and appeared to heave up ice. I drilled about 5.5” off boat launch but went no farther. A couple of big wet cracks running from close to shore towards lake centre between access and Silver Beach point. Ice looks very shiny and wet around the point with binoculars. Did not venture out due to hearing ice is very thin at around 2”. Ice may start forming better with colder weather on the way as long as we don’t get a bunch off snow. Be very cautious and check ice thoroughly if heading out....
