Question, do those southern reservoir lakes drop off fast or are the big ones cruising shallows? Seems most big pike pics are close to the shore.

This time of year big ones are usually caught between 6 &12 feet, usually but not always. Depending on the reservoir and area being fished you can go from 8 to 30 feet deep in a 20 foot span, and some places 8 feet to 30 feet deep in a 1/4 to 1/2 mile, depends on the reservoir.
