From where the Dawson park parking lot is walk towards the north (downstream) along the bank. Before you get to the big bend to the east there is a beaver house. Right in front of that area is fishable. Bottom fishing with bait or spincast with lures, spoons or rubbertail jigs. It is main channel fishing so you could even try for sturgeon there. Don't fish the spillway a little way downstream from there as it is snag city.

I grabbed some spin cast lures. I am only rolling a light travel rig so want to stay away from the sturgies!
