The yelloweye don’t need closed areas, plenty of yelloweye, but the problem is massive amount of bycatch by the commercial longliners. The commercial guys need to clean up their act and use a more selective method. The DFO needs to recognize the actual problem and act prudently.
This constant limiting the sportfisher everywhere and every time the commercial folks overharvest the resource has to stop, native fisheries included.
