The sky isn’t falling. Before this agreement I had a harvesting area that was 160 km radius of Lac st Anne. That’s 320 km wide and 320 km high. Take a look on a map to see just how big of an area that is. Other than making the area larger nothing has changed. Not all Métis qualify as harvesters, only if you meet the Powely test. You think that now I have a bigger area I’m going to kill everything in site? The original harvesting card and area back in 2010 came from the conservative government so not sure how one party could expect votes over another. The right comes from the constitution and the Supreme Court of Canada, not given by any provincial government. Also if FN are not happy with this what difference does that make, we’ve never really been accepted by them either. Oh and I do buy tags to hunt sheep in the willmore, and will continue because I go there with a few white friends and wouldn’t want it to be awkward.
