Ok.. So finally back from a 3 day adventure on the ssr and thought I would share a bit of our adventure... My buddy and I spent 3 nights camped at the ssr fishing for sturgeon. It was an exploratory trip and we spent most of our time the first day gearing up and figuring out the river. On the last day we wasted most of the day away with a regretful excursion...
and the wind at night made it impossible to fish... So hard the last night it collapsed our tent and confined us to the back of the truck haha... But all in all I feel we slayed em pretty good when we were able to fish... Final tally was 7 sturgeon caught with the biggest being 50" and a 15" girth...dozens of walleye sauger and bait stealing goldeye and one small pike... Also a very interesting find washed up on shore... Tilapia?!? We really felt we would get into a monster sturgeon and we did have the fish in question jump not 20 yards from us but I guess this trip it just wasn't meant to be... Oh well reason to go back
and the 50"er my buddy caught I found an old broken hook in his mouth

So 4 of the sturgeon we landed were tagged including the big guy so if anyone could lemmie know where I give the details it would be appreciated... Also when I first joined AO forum I remember reading about Wayne Christie getting the gear to tag and if anyone can steer me towards how I could look into that it would be greatly appreciated . Gonna get one that charts out ( length and girth) over 105#.....
