Agree very much, my grandfather gave me my first canoe when I was 12, and ever since I've never even considered life without one. In the 15 years I've owned my Explorer I've owned 2 houses and went through about dozen vehicles and ATV's. In all honesty a good canoe is one of the most long term investments an outdoorsman can make... so while I mostly drive cheap beater vehicles, I own some pretty nice canoes.
