Much better.. That makes sense.. Thanks for the explanation..

Automotive air brakes have a parking brake that is spring/air actuated, when the parking brake is released air is supplied to that parking brake pulling the caliper off the drum. When an air loss occurs, the spring applies the brake.. The service brakes are like you said..
