24" ice at Newell on Thurs Dec 29. Fishing was very slow. A couple skinny jacks and a fat 23" walleye. Fished depths from 10fow to about 20fow, mostly in the north end of the lake. Lots of "forage" perch swimming far too confidently for my liking.
Heading back to that area to do an overnighter with my wife Sunday/Monday. Still not 100% sure where we'll set up, because I do not have confidence in any one area of the lake just yet.
