When I was a kid, I watched one of the Golden Hawks, predecessor of the Snowbirds, plow into the ground on approach at the Calgary airport, after colliding with a light plane. The F 86 sliced the wing off a Piper Tripacer and went straight into the ground. The other plane just windmilled down. They both ended up where Deerfoot now runs past the west runway. I think there were 4 people killed between the two planes.
