My neighbour has a pond in his yard. Its about 12 feet deep in middle and no more than 80 feet in diameter ( no aeration) . He called yesterday asking me to drill couple holes as he wanted to flood it to make rink for his kids. Popped three holes and there was only 4 inches ice and some of that was flood ice, Had maybe 7 inches snow covering it. I couldn't believe how thin the ice was
