First of all I would consider features like physical weight, axle to axle width, and maybe...FPS. However it depends on what are you going to hunt. A deer can be shot within 20 yards velocity isn't a biggie here. It's also a drawback since higher FPS crossbows produce much noise. I prefer to stay under 400 FPS to keep noise down.

Ofc, you can also look for overall quality and reasonable prices by comparing features of x-bows in the same price range.
