i'd go one further, as since he's talking about kids in child seats, I'd rent a smaller travel trailer (along with van) that can sleep 5-6 people, that way you have a bathroom/fridge with you all the time (for wife & kiddies), and you only have to setup tents for 50% of the people. Not to mention provides alot more storage for the 9 people.

keyword is "smaller" though, that way you will spend more time outside, and the trailer is still easily manueverable (sp?lol).

The only issue I see, is finding a rental company that will let you tow with their vehicle. There are some out there, just not all will allow it.
