I liek fireline and spider wire. I use 6 lb fireline on my rod for pike and walleye at pigeon. I use 20 lb line for the kidlets and my wife as they do not know how to adjust the drag if they were to catch an unusually large fish.
use a leader with my kids only because they like to change their hooks every 2 minutes. I tie my hook directly to the line
