We have a 48" gas range and gas oven.
The oven would be better if it was electric IMO.
The gas range top, however, is the way to go for control, quick heat, etc...
There is no smell, no discoloration or anything like that at all ... gas appliances today are not like yesteryears - safe, clean and trouble free.
Don't buy a Bertazzoni ......... no customer service in Canada. Viking or Wolf have been good to me, the Bertazzoni, not so much.
