it really depends on how much tuning you will be doing. For the average person, a mounted press just isn't worth the 6 7 or 8 hundred bucks, but something like the bow-a-constrictor or a bowmaster portable press, they definitly are worth the hundred bucks or so, and everyone should have em for emergency repairs or restringing in the field, so it kind of depends on how much and for what you are going to be using it for, but yes, some sort of press is a must have for tuning, at least giving a cable a twist or two or installing a peep sight, or string silencers...
