Several years ago we arrived with quads to head up to the lake and there was a sign restricting the OHV usage to certain dates due to elk calving?...Can't remember what the exact date period was however we were there in early July I think. We hiked in....2-3 kms ...some very nice cutthroats in there and it is big bear country
