Here are a couple of shots from last Spring. They were taken on the west coast of Ireland, in County Mayo. It is actually a bronze commissioned by the Irish Government, as a monument to the millions of Irish who fled the country as the result of the great potato famine. Many thousands perished on they journey to the New World. When you look closer in the second photo, the rigging in the ship is actually human skeletons.
The ship has been strategically placed at the foot of Croagh Patrick (seen shrouded in mist in the top photo), a famous pilgrimage walk for Irish Catholics.
