The local trout ponds like mentioned. There are several within an hour. When the ice is half off is a great time for casting spinners.

Cardiff is a pleasant place with lots of room to cast or flyfish. Sort of groomed right to the water's edge. 15 minutes north of the city. The trout taste ok. East pit, Chickakoo & Sauer (they are side by side), Ashland are all suggestions.

The trout in some of the lakes don't taste the best. They can taste muddy. Best to dress them quick as you catch them, take out the blood line along the spine and put them on ice packs in a cooler. Some lakes the trout are pinker and taste great.
