Ears bleed profusely on anything from dogs to livestock to people.
This is my two cents. Take it to the vet unless you can do a good running stitch on dog shaking his head every second cuz it hurts something awful.
From past experiences as recent as a couple months ago. No amount of pressing bandage or glue is gonna close up a 1" gash.
Pay to vet and cut the top off an old straw cowboy hat as a cone for the hound. Works every time for us.
