I bet that isn't pure bred sauger out of the red. They cross with walleye. They have the spotted dorsal but not the "sauger" look. A pure bred sauger has the skinny profile and the blotchy dark patches. I caught a hawg out of the red deer probably 20 years ago when the record was 5.5 or something but it just had the spotted dorsal otherwise it looked like a wallie. I would like to see that fish. I got mine right in downtown red deer. Good to see some record fish tho either way.Not stirring the pot just curious.
