I don't believe there is much for shore fishing. Only the one place to access.
Unfortunately shore fishing around Edmonton sucks. It actually drove me to go for a few years without fishing. Finally I broke down and bought a canoe and it made all the difference.
My advice is to buy some sort of method to get on the water. You can get good deals on kijiji that you won't even lose any money on if you sell them in a year or two.
