I have a 2021 chevy 3500 HD 4 x 4 with the 6.6lt duramax, it just rolled over 20,000 km and lifetime it sits at 15.4 lt/100 so 18.5 MPG which I am totally happy with.

Out of that 20,000 km over 3,000 km was towing my 22' enclosed trailer, 6" extra height with my S x S and hunting camp in it only 7,000 lb all in but still up there in the wind, unfortunately on Sept 15 when we headed for GP we pushed a NW wind at 40km gusting to 60km all the way 770 km, the duramax would pull it against the wind as fast as I wanted to go but it liked it's fuel 31.5 lt/100 that day, on the way home 3 weeks later with no wind 20.2 lt/100 wind makes a huge difference.

In the long run if your going to drive a 3500 HD with the duramax in it you really should not expect to be getting 25 MPG, ordinary highway driving empty it runs about 11.5 lt/100, one trip to Calgary and back this summer over 1450 km it averaged 10.1 lt /100 all highway driving.
