As though some of the new arrivals to Canada could even read what they were signing, or had any idea what a union rep even is. Might was well have told a group of grade two students to 'sign here'. These workers wanted the benefits the person promised them, but with their entry level wages that skim off the top of their next cheques hurt quite a bit. The union organizer sounds like they didn't explain the entire story of what they were up to, some might well have thought he was from the human resources dept of their employer.
