Was just going to mention the Winter Ale by Granville Island Brewing. Even before I made my way to Alberta, I'd been very impressed with most of Big Rock's offerings, but being an ale lover, the Traditional Ale is amazing, never disappoints.

Other great amber and brown ales I've enjoyed lately:

Yukon Red - Amber Ale
Dead Frog - Winter Beeracle

A guilty pleasure of mine all summer long was the Shocktop sampler pack (found 2 different varieties, one had a cranberry white ale) with the usual Belgian white ale, a grapefruit radler and a green apple white ale. I'm not big on fruit in beer but both the radler and green apple are amazing, even my FIL who is an admitted beer snob, couldn't believe how good they both were.
