get the zoom eye piece, i think it does 15-45x in that body. I have the 664 and it easily competes with the swarovski and actually found it beats it in resolution and distortion etc. so the kowa line overall is where i would suggest everyone starts looking
i'm drooling over that little 55 though, could sell you my 664 body if you'd like a true 20-60x? I'll go get the 554 body

Sadly, Robinson's Camera closed up in late 2017. Doesn't take away from your point that Kowa make some seriously good glass and product. Amazon is full of it too, just don't get to get your hands on it first.
