I have been using 53gr of IMR4350 in my Model 70 win for more than 40 years. This load chrono's at 2840fps average in my gun. I had tried several powders back them but the IMR5350 gave me the most consistent results along with near factor MV. Most of the bullets in these loads were Speer Grand Slams but I ended up using the same load for Noslers and Hornadys over the years with the same results. The primers were always magnums. I prefer using the most accurate load for hunting and did not try for maximize velocity. My notes indicated that I would start to see primer pressure indications in test loads above 54 gr. I have thought about trying out some of the newer powders and seeing what works best again but somehow I just never find the time.
