i do not idolize our military members. truthfully i hope to never have to do what they do and would not want to see myself in their place. so as an idol or a role model it doesn't work for me.
however i do respect them and i'm thankful of the work they have done and continue to do. i suspect he would have to as well even if we do have our doubts.
perhaps this is just a wording thing, although it does make him sound like a horse's back end
