Tried a dewalt and a miluakee cordless chainsaw the other day, interesting but expensive compared to an entry level stihl gas saw.
However, I do love the cordless dewalt compact recip for all sorts of cutting, with a pruning blade it does very well. I also have the oscillating saw which is the best invention since the dremel, and the cordless 7 1/4 circ saw is great, but the 6 1/2 is strangely underpowered. Brushless does make a difference.
Watch KMS for deals or amazon, I have also found kijiji deals on brand new stuff but never a chainsaw.
I recommend picking a system you like and sticking to it for the batteries.
