You are possibly right I should not have worded it that way but rather
Although spawning is occurring, there appears to be very limited survival of naturally spawned young (only one fish caught in gill nets in 2009 was a two year old) Now could it be that what spawning there is the fry are being eaten as there is a low numbers of bait fish in the res.
