The NSR and a handful of trout ponds are the only decent shore fishing around Edmonton. And if you want to catch and keep something to take home the trout ponds are about your only bet. Far from amazing imo...
For the record, I am spoiled. I used to have a couple lakes not to far from home in Sask that I could go and fish off shore and catch a supper worth of walleye or pike. That is what I consider good shore fishing.
