opening morning, 1/2hr before legal light. I was sitting up on a oat field edge getting a lay of the land and hoping to execute a stalk on some of the big bucks i know have been in the field frequently. turn around to find a very large set of antlers coming straight at me. He passed me at 12 yards. Hes much bigger then I thought and would guess hes in the mid to high 170's WT. well dam.
Hunting partner shot a nice 5x5 bull sat morning that was very vocal and with a few cows.
several opportunities on does w/ fawns. A young velvet 3x3 WT.
I have yet to see a hard antlered buck. velvet is coming off very late this year.
