Ten days into my elk hunt and 4 days left to go finally connected with this guy. Started the trip off to a rocky start with a foot injury but we hunted hard. Elk and moose encounters everyday day for past two weeks but nothing came to fruition until last night. During our walk out of the woods we came across this nice moose. Did a 160 yard stalk and he was coming towards us for a fight. Buddy behind me with his bow above his head like a moose, and after ranging 3 times got to 40 yards. I took a risky shot, full frontal with my 465 grain FMJ tipped with Grim Reaper. Complete pass through and he died within 20 yards not even 30 seconds after shot. To top it off he died on the main trail. No tracking or humping meat out on my back. Drove the truck through the grazing lease right up to him. My first Archery moose and first kill with my bow. I must say I'm sold on the Grim reapers and my arrow setup now
