For fields, binos are a good to have, rake... not so much. Scan all around, take advantage of higher view points & take your time looking. I found this set after hiking all afternoon, within 300 yds of the truck on the way back, looking back. So don't give up too easily.
My best tip? Follow deer trails. It's easier walking and you know deer were there.
