The elk are in very different spots from sept to nov, and year to year. If there is anything to focus on, it would be areas that you anticipate to have good feed in November. That could be anything from thick bush to wide open crop fields with no cover for miles, and they will quickly relocate if they get pressured.

The biggest concentration of elk is on the base. There are a few small scattered herds around but they tend to stick to spots where they don’t get harassed/shot at. While I’ve seen them far away from the base, it’s always been a long rough walk to the spot.

One day means very little. Re: 238, I might see elk 1/15 days. There just aren’t that many around.
