As mentioned, its for some reason an old timer/saskatchewan thing. Pickeral = walleye and jack = northern pike when you hear that. Although both terms are technically wrong.
Ex: if you were in sk locals would refer to them there fish in dat lake as pickeral and jack. Who knows why.
