Rush has sold an estimated 40 million albums for example and I doubt the country identify them as iconic.

I've always maintained Gordon Lightfoot is the best Canadian singer/songwriter we have ever seen. Hint....songs showing his best "writing" were never big hits.
Gord Downie couldn't hold a candle for Gordon Lightfoot. Different era so I won't expect anyone under 50 to agree.
