I'd pay it. You may hear hundreds of stories of tickets being thrown out because the tech was incompetent, or there was an issue with the equipment, and at best I find most of these stories just watercooler BS. As much as i hate to admit it, the machines work very well and are surprisingly simple to operate efficiently. You were most like speeding as indicated in the ticket, and at this point it's probably best to pay and put it behind you.
