I use to sell new vehicles but if I remember correctly that on the private sale of a used vehicle the previous owner is on the hook for any repairs needed for the first month that is not a regular wear & tear item (i.e. tires, belts, batteries) or they have to refund your money even if "sold as is where is" is written on the bill of sale. Check with AMVIC or a lawyer , maybe even a reputable dealer. I will see what I can find out. Good luck.
