Depends on the size of your fly. I would use straight floro, about 4ft, the heavier the fly the heavier the line. Trout size wooly buggers won't require much more than 6# to turn the fly over, large flies might require up to 20# line to turn the fly over. Casting heavy flies with a light leader is a good way to end up with a fly embedded in your nogin.
